EQUIPMENT

Highland Disabled Ramblers now own 9 sturdy electric scooters for the use of members on our rambles.

We have been extremely fortunate in receiving funding in 2008 from the Great Wilderness Challenge and in 2009 from the Highland Cross and Inverness Common Good Fund to enable us to renew most of our fleet of ageing scooters. We were able to buy three TGA Breeze 3 and four Breeze 4 scooters.

Our sincere thanks go to both charities and to the Highland Council for their generosity; also to City Mobility in Inverness for procuring the scooters for us.

The new scooters complement our existing Mini-Crosser and older Meteor.

8 scooters are available for booking on each ramble and one is used as a spare in case of mechanical or other problems. Details on how to book are given to members in our regular newsletter “Rambling On”.
